A note on my travelogues
When Michael and I travel overseas, I have been in the habit of writing emails to our friends. These seem to have taken on a life of their own as ‘friends of friends’ ask to be added to the mailing list. I then get emails from people who I have never met wanting to ‘go on the list’. The emails are stories of our travels, usually irreverent; potted histories of places we have seen, (not always totally accurate. Who did say, ‘don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story’?) There is always a fairly big component consisting of what we have eaten. They are written in my own ‘style’ usually full of spelling & grammatical errors, use your ‘red pens’ to correct them if you must! Michael is the long-suffering butt of most of many of my stories. ‘Himself’ is quite happy with that role!
A note on the 2014 trip to Spain, Portugal & France
We traveled for two months and for seven weeks of that time we leased a car and did a lot of driving, it was both fun and at times frightening, bollards became my night mare. We stayed in the older parts of cities and many streets have bollards to keep out the ‘non’ locals, sadly our Sat Nav did not seem to know about them so many very funny driving experiences where had! The end of the holiday was the reason for the trip, our very dear and love friend Stephanie Toole was celebrating her birthday, so it needed a party. The party lasted several weeks. We loved every minute of it!
